HI, I’M TRACI
I am the founder and principal design consultant for My Simpatico Life.
I have been married to my super handy guy for over 30 years now and we’ve got 4 amazing daughters, 4 son-in-laws and a 5 grandbaby’s.
We have lived in more than 10 houses so far and none of them have escaped having some great updates and decor to make them great homes for our family.
I also had a career building homes that included some custom and some spec so I’m familiar with houses from the inside out and I love every part of them.
We have spent the past summers remodeling two homes with our daughters – who have inherited our DIY addiction. And we’re currently living in a Texas Tuscan that we’re slowly updating.
Darrel and I have spent many of our date nights at the home improvement store and covered in paint or drywall dust.
Why? Because we truly enjoy updating a space and making it our vision.
About My Simpatico Life
Have you ever looked around your house and wondered where to even start decorating?
Have you purchased an item at the store and been disappointed with it when you go home because it just didn’t quite feel right with your decor?
Do you think that only people who hire designers can have a home that looks amazing and put together? Or that there’ s a special gene that some people have?
Well once upon a time I might have agreed with those statements but I’m here to tell you that you can have a beautiful home and you can decorate it yourself and I can show you the steps to follow and teach you to trust yourself.
Some of my favorite pastimes have been collecting shelter magazines and tearing sheets out of them to put in a binder. Yep, I used to have rows of binders organized by each room of the house and all the inspiration photo’s that I had collected.
Now I just love reading shelter magazines because they are full of inspiration and pretty photo’s!
YOUR HOME SHOULD BE YOUR HAPPY PLACE
Your home should be the place that you love spending time. The place that you are most comfortable and where your family and friends want to be. Your home is your refuge from all the craziness of the outside world and it should nurture you and your family.
You deserve to live in a beautiful space.

There are no wrong decorating decisions, there are just decisions that aren’t the best ones for you or your space and I’ll help guide you to make them best ones that work for YOU!
My passion is mixing high end pieces, great budget finds and sometimes a little DIY design to create a look that is curated, beautiful and unique for you and your family.
I’ve got lots of tips here on the blog to help steer you in the right direction and I’m also available to take the reigns on your project and see it to completion.
SIMPATICO
We call our home Simpatico.
Simpatico reminds us that everything in life flows together. We should always take time for family and fun. Our home is our ongoing project. Our home is the place we host our family and friends, and the place we rest when we need a break.
Really we call our home Simpatico because our lives are anything but restful. We generally have 2 or 20 people around, usually we’re outnumbered by dogs and there are always projects. Renovations, gardening, decor and crafts. We’ll tackle it all.
Our home, much like our lives, is constantly changing.
